Description:JOB PURPOSE:
Seeking an individual with exceptional communication skills and commitment to providing outstanding customer service to liaise between the health system and physicians groups to achieve interoperability. This position is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining the interoperability strategy connecting Piedmont Healthcare and physician practices and hospital-based groups. This includes establishing standard data exchange channels (eg HL7, FHIR, etc.) as well as standard data sets to enhance patient care coordination and streamline operations. This position will ensure that implemented technologies meet regulatory requirements and are in line with industry standards. Additionally, they will keep up to date with best practices and market trends and ensure that the interoperability program evolves appropriately to address the needs of the health systems and physician groups. This individual will serve as a key liaison and primary contact between the health system and connected groups. This role is crucial in fostering strong relationships with practices, enhancing communication, overseeing implementation, and addressing ongoing concerns. This individual will also facilitate coordination among vendors, IS, Quality, Business Intelligence, and Operations stakeholders. This position will also identify key metrics for the program, regularly monitor performance, identify and mitigate risks to ensure ongoing success.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide exceptional customer service to physician practice and hospital-based groups as well as key operational leaders in the organization. Deliver high quality service to customers during interoperability engagements.Serve as the primary point of contact for physician groups, internal teams, and vendors.Oversee interoperability projects, ensuring successful connection and data exchange with external practices while adhering to deadlines, scope, and budget.Track and report program progress related to status, milestones, emerging risks and mitigation plans.Work closely with IT and technical teams to configure, test, and validate interfaces between physician groups and the organization's EMR.Develop training strategy for end-users at physician practices and hospital groups to ensure seamless adoption of integration solutions.Ensure proper post-implementation monitoring, support, maintenance, and optimization of connected systems.Develop and maintain reporting mechanisms to measure the success and performance of interoperability efforts.Develop an understanding of Epic integration tools (eg CareEverywhere) and industry data exchanges (eg HIE) and determine appropriate alignment of Piedmont Healthcare integration strategy.Manage vendor relationships throughout project lifecycle including product evaluations, contract negotiation, support and escalation engagement.Collaborate with the information technology teams to ensure that interoperability solutions are designed, implemented, and maintained in accordance with best practices and industry standards and are compliant with regulatory requirements.Develop and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with physician executive leaders, physician office staff, IS team members, Quality team members, and vendors to ensure that all stakeholders are appropriately engaged.Monitor industry trends, regulations, and technological advancements in health information exchange and EMR interoperability to keep program current.Provide leadership and direction to the interoperability team members to ensure goals are met and excellent services provided to customers.Provides consultative, technical and decision-making support to executive management for interoperability and strategic initiatives.Develops and manages effective working relationships with other departments, groups and personnel with whom work must be coordinated or interfaced.Ability to work on multiple projects at one time in complex environment and meet deadlines.Occasionally travels to various Piedmont Healthcare entities.Performs other duties as assigned, including participation in assigned committees.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:Exceptional customer service and relationship management skills required.Must be able to work effectively with all levels of management and executive staff, possessing tact, discretion and diplomacy.Must be detail-oriented with excellent organization skills.Superior written and verbal communication skills including the ability to present ideas in a clear and complete manner through visuals, written, and oral communication.Skill and ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a collaborative team environment.Skill and ability in Microsoft Office applications.Demonstrate strong organizational, interpersonal, analytics, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work as a member of a team.Monitor and develop visual summarizations of trends and key findings.Must be able to maintain the confidentiality of data.Qualifications:MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:Bachelors degree from a recognized college or university in Business, Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, Industrial Engineering, Informatics, Nursing or closely-related field.MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:Five (5) years of experience in a healthcare organization or a healthcare consulting practice involving information services, informatics, project management, consulting, analytics, physician outreach, business development or a related field, to include three (3) years of leadership experience is required.MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:None.ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:Specific experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder technology improvement efforts and defining process and technology solutions to meet healthcare problems is required.Possesses advanced computer skills with a strong knowledge of spreadsheet programs, databases, and decision support systems.Basic knowledge of statistical algorithms.Masters degree preferred.PMP or project management experience preferred.Work experience in an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, Epic experience preferred.Experience with data exchange tools and standards (HL7, API, FHIR, CCD, CDA, etc.) preferred.Tableau certification and/or experience preferred.
