Director of the Vendor Management Office (VMO)The Director of the Vendor Management Office (VMO), reporting to the VP, Vendor Management Office, will own the vendor lifecycle process from procurement to termination. Responsible for driving operational excellence and act as the senior executive for creation and management of vendor contracts. Provide leadership in the standardization of purchasing, contracting, oversight, service delivery and solutions for the organization. Direct and coordinate activities, forecasting, and performance of all GEHA vendors. Identify and nurture relationships with vendor partners in order to promote a sustainable, profitable, and cost-effective supply chain.SKILLS

Key DutiesDirectly responsible for the performance and results of all procurement to contract structureMaintain strategic vendor alignment with GEHA’s goals & initiativesAlign with and refine GEHA’s vendor management principles, and execute against a cross-functionally vetted strategy (including driving RFIs and RFPs) to scale vendor operations (support, risk, etc.)Lead and develop the procurement teamEstablish strong, collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to strategically develop, implement and optimize vendor management processes, tools, and policies to achieve performance objectives while mitigating vendor riskDevelop robust vendor relationships to maintain effective communication channels and ensure ongoing alignment across several operations teamsManage all contract and commercial negotiations and relationship management for all key vendor relationshipsLead discovery and research of new vendors/technologiesLead forecasting and subsequent vendor capacity across all departments and lines of businessManage governance structure and key contacts to ensure the appropriate vendor interaction takes place to support GEHA business operationsOversee monitoring of vendor performance against contractual obligations to ensure overall effectiveness of vendor provided services with the utilization of vendor performance dashboards, scorecards and/or reportsProactively engage with corporate departments to support initiatives and strategies associated with key metrics for the unique partnership and the growth of that partnershipEnsure performance improvement and recovery plans are developed, issued, tracked, and reported onOversee managing the business with guidance on processes and special handling for major expenses that impact federal contractsEducation RequirementsA Bachelor's Degree (MBA or graduate degree preferred)Experience Requirements10+ years' experience in strategic sourcing, contract oversight, supplier collaboration, development and compliance while managing direct reportsOutstanding leadership and communication skillsStrong negotiations experienceGood knowledge of supplier or third-party managementHighly analytical and find comfort in numbersExperience in collecting and analyzing data5+ years’ experience working at a health plan preferred5+ years’ experience working with a federal contractor preferredCreative problem-solving skillsWork-at-home requirementsMust have the ability to provide a non-cellular High Speed Internet Service such as Fiber, DSL, or cable Modems for a home office.A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 30x5 (30mpbs download x 5mpbs upload) is required.Latency (ping) response time lower than 80 msHotspots, satellite and wireless internet service is NOT allowed for this role.A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA informationHow we value youCompetitive pay/salary rangesIncentive planHealth/Vision/Dental benefits effective day one401(k) retirement plan: company match – dollar for dollar up to 4% employee contribution (pretax or Roth options) plus a 6% annual company contributionRobust employee well-being programPaid Time OffPersonal Community Enrichment TimeCompany-provided Basic Life and AD&DCompany-provided Short-Term & Long-Term DisabilityTuition Assistance ProgramPlease note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
