www.mainspringenergy.com .ResponsibilitiesThe technology that powers Mainspring’s Linear Generator is unlike any other generator technology on the market. The Linear Generator relies on innovative electrical power and control hardware systems to achieve its best-in-class efficiency while meeting the world’s strictest emissions requirements. These hardware systems are designed by a talented team of engineers that own hardware design from initial concept through test and manufacturing. We have a high impact opportunity for an engineer to shape the future of the Linear Generator’s battery and high voltage system. As a member of the electrical and electromechanical team, you will:Design a high voltage (800V+) battery pack to enable backup battery operation of the Linear Generator.

Lead high voltage system projects, that include the design and integration of high voltage batteries, grid-tie inverters, power capacitor, VFDs, and DC/DC converters.

Drive validation, qualification, and reliability testing of high voltage subsystems.

Collaborate with the mechanical, controls, software, test, manufacturing and operations teams to deliver battery packs and electrical hardware subsystems to production.

Troubleshoot complex hardware and integration problems that arise in the R&D lab, production floor, and field units.

Become an expert on the Linear Generator’s battery pack and high voltage electrical system.

This is a hybrid position (onsite + remote) and will require you to be onsite as required to perform testing, troubleshooting, manufacturing support, etc.QualificationsYou have…At least 5 years of hands-on experience with high voltage battery development, testing, or integration into an electrical system.

Technical expertise in the high voltage battery systems, including understanding BMS fundamentals.

A “collaborate-first” mindset and have successfully communicated across a range of teams and personalities.

A bachelor’s degree, or higher, in Electrical Engineering or related field.

Nice-to-havesExpertise in different battery chemistries, and the ability to explain the relative strengths and weaknesses of each chemistry.

Experience in the full hardware development life cycle, from requirements development to manufacturing support; having taken at least one product through volume manufacturing.

Experience working at a startup or rapid development environment.

The Bay Area salary for this role is $130k-$153k base + pre-IPO stock options + benefits. This position is on-site in Menlo Park, CA. The salary will be adjusted based on the experience of the employee.
