A key part of Airwallex’s suite of Business Account software, the Cards team are revolutionizing the way businesses issue credit cards and manage expenses for their employees. This team solves complex challenges around the growing demands of data and feature complexity in credit cards and expenses, and they work at the exciting intersection of our backend infrastructure and customer facing applications, working on distributed systems that manage millions of transactions.What you’ll do

While you are a technically strong engineer who is still passionate about writing code, your leadership skills, product thinking and business acumen are what really sets you apart. You will be accountable for the overall quality and delivery of multiple engineering streamlines within the Budget and Expense Management team.This role is based in San Francisco.Responsibilities:

You will be the one clearing road blockers, providing context and guidance to the teams, and will know when to escalate.This role will work with key stakeholders across the globe, and will provide technical leadership to Engineers in the US to define the tech vision of the business domain.Who you are

We're looking for people who meet the minimum qualifications for this role. The preferred qualifications are great to have, but are not mandatory.Minimum qualifications:

10+ years working in modern engineering practices focused on continuous integration and quality engineering.Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or a closely related field.Strong computer science fundamentals. While we do not mind what language you have most recently been using, we are using Java or Kotlin, Spring / Spring Boot.Exposure working on high volume distributed systems.Hands-on experience with event driven architectures.Experience with operational tooling such as New Relic, StatsD, Elk, Datadog, Prometheus. Flexibility to work across global timezones required.Preferred qualifications:

GCP experience preferred, but AWS (EC2, RDS, ELB, CloudFront etc) with docker and Kubernetes is great too.Previous experience in FinTech a plus.Equal opportunity
