Required Qualifications:Ability to obtain a Security Clearance. In order to obtain a security clearance, you must be a US Citizen.BS/BA and a minimum of 8 years of experience; MS/SA and a minimum of 6 years of experience, or Ph.D and a minimum of 3 years of experience. 4 years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.Experience in designing and developing software for satellite ground systems or TT&C applications.Familiarity with the OS/COMET COTS software product or similar TT&C products.Proficiency in various languages and frameworks such as C, Java, Angular, Spring Boot, etc.Knowledge of software development methodologies and life-cycles; specifications, design, implementation, and testing.Experience with the Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Confluence, FishEye/Crucible, BitBucket, etc.).Experience with Linux, preferably RHEL.Understanding of CI/CD practices and DevSecOps culture.This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance. To obtain a clearance, you need to be a U.S. Citizen and show proof of citizenship.Preferred Qualifications:Active/Current Security Clearance.Experience developing Application Specific Inputs (ASI) or Application Specific Outputs (ASO) for OS/COMET based ground systems.Familiarity with OS/COMET tools and experience developing applications with those tools.In-depth understanding of the OS/COMET CCL scripting language.Experience mentoring junior engineers.Job Overview:Peraton is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to develop TT&C and Satellite Mission Management and Scheduling software in support of our mission-critical customers and the OS/COMET COTS software product. This position is located in Melbourne, FL, and will require the applicant to be within a commutable distance to provide on-site support.Responsibilities:Research, design, and development of computer software systems, including requirement analysis, design, development, and testing of software products.Application of the principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.Analysis of software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.Contribute to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects and handle routine tasks. Solve problems of moderate-to-advanced scope/complexity.Demonstrate a strong grasp of debugging skills.
