The Assistant General Counsel, Real Estate is responsible for providing legal advice and support on a variety of transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, financing, and development of commercial properties. The AGC will also draft and review various contracts and agreements related to real estate matters, such as purchase and sale agreements, leases, easements, licenses, loan documents, and joint venture agreements.Responsibilities
Advise and assist on all aspects of real estate transactions, from due diligence to closing, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements related to real estate matters, such as purchase and sale agreements, leases, easements, licenses, loan documents, and joint venture agreements.Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, such as business units, finance, tax, risk, and outside counsel, to facilitate real estate transactions and resolve any issues or disputes.Manage and maintain real estate records, tracking deadlines, and ensuring timely performance of obligations.Research and analyze legal issues and developments affecting the company's real estate activities and provide timely and practical advice and guidance.Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices for the company.Experience
7-12 years of legal experience, including experience at a law firm and/or corporate legal department for a large organization.Strong knowledge and understanding of real estate laws and regulations, contracts, and transactions.Excellent drafting, negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.Attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving skills.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Articulated experience interacting and collaborating with senior and executive management.Ability to solve complex issues.Provide effective leadership, promote teamwork and demonstrate the ability to lead people to get results.Demonstrated success performing in a fast-paced, dynamic environment under strong demands.Creativity and resourcefulness with a bias toward well-informed action.Maintain confidentiality.Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement.Handle multiple projects simultaneously within established time constraints.Education
Juris Doctorate from an ABA (American Bar Association) accredited law school, Required.
