Texas Tech University (TTU) seeks a forward-thinking, collaborative, and innovative leader for the newly created position of Associate Vice President (AVP), Data Analytics and Strategy to shape data-driven strategies that support institutional success. Reporting to the Senior Vice President for Administration & Finance and Chief Financial Officer, the AVP will leverage TTU’s data assets to drive institutional success and operational efficiency.
In this role, the AVP will manage a team of 20, including the Chief Data Management Officer, Directors of Institutional Research and Analytics Enablement, and the Enterprise Data Architect. Responsibilities include establishing data and analytics as a core institutional asset, defining the vision for data strategy, and implementing effective data and analytics models and processes to support strategic decision-making.
Key Priorities:
Develop and maintain authority over enterprise data, ensuring governance models that foster consistent data management across units while supporting analytics-driven initiatives.
Build partnerships with university leadership to promote data as a strategic asset, using data to inform storytelling and decisions that support TTU’s goals.
Drive the adoption of advanced analytics, including AI and machine learning, in collaboration with the CFO and CIO, expanding the University's data capabilities and dashboard offerings.
Identify new, high-value data sources and integrate emerging technologies to advance TTU’s analytics capabilities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, STEM, data science, or related fields
5+ years of progressive leadership in D&A with expertise in cross-functional team management and enterprise-wide strategy
Preferred: 10+ years in business management, higher education experience, and familiarity with Ellucian, Salesforce, and Power BI
