DevOps Engineer
role will be a key member of the technology team who will work collaboratively with our Chief Technology Officer and Director of Software Development to implement optimized, scalable, highly available and secure Azure cloud solutions. The
DevOps Engineer
is expected to be experienced with Azure Cloud Services, Architecture, CI/CD, and Networking best practices. The ideal candidate will have proven experience optimizing cloud environments for speed and cost, assisting Software Development teams with Cloud Infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines, and being an evangelist that will continue to advance the team and the enterprise. The
DevOps Engineer
reports to the Chief Technology Officer.What You’ll DoExtend end to end ownership of enterprise applications through the development team and create seamless, automated CI/CD pipelines.Architecting, Designing, and working closely with Software Engineering / DevOps to develop robust cloud-based applications and infrastructures.Enterprise Cloud Architecture and development of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform - ensuring all deployed capabilities are secure, compliant, and optimized to provide maximum redundancy and resiliency.Implement Business Continuity / Disaster Recovery plans, supporting infrastructure and executing regular tests of plans.Optimize infrastructure to minimize cost, maximize capability and provide elasticity for workloads on demand.Use subject matter expertise to educate others on cloud infrastructure / services capabilities and best practice.Support and Operation of the overall cloud infrastructure environment, leveraging expert troubleshooting skills and implementation of robust monitoring and alerting tools.Support Change Management practices, inclusive of review, approval and roll back planning.Consistently keeping up with new cloud technologies, security best practices and ensuring recommendations are consistently incorporated into the environment.Incident Management and Response and manage Azure DevOps pipelines.Perform other duties as assigned.Maintain quality work that exemplifies and promotes Flores’ core values.Who You AreA graduate of a bachelor’s degree program preferably a degree in Computer Science, MIS or equivalent. Related experience will be considered. Industry certification a plus.Someone with 5+ years of DevOps engineering experience.A systematic problem-solving approach coupled with strong communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive.Someone who has familiarity with Azure DevOps ecosystem, e.g., Wiki, Boards, Epics, Stories and Features, and broad knowledge of Azure cloud IaaS and PaaS solutions and best practices.Experienced with cloud cost reporting and optimization, and experience with vendor management and engagement.Someone with an ability to work collaboratively with others while providing expert skillsets and opinions.Someone with Microsoft Azure platform and services administration experience, including secure design practices.An individual with proven experience as a DevOps Engineer delivering sustainable and scalable application infrastructure within Azure.Someone with a strong understanding of networking and internet protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP, SSL, TLS, and distributed networks.Experienced administering RDBMS systems is preferred, such as PostgreSQL.Experienced with automation frameworks and relevant scripting/programming languages. Flores uses Terraform, but other experiences are welcomed (Azure ARM, Ansible, YAML templates, Python, PowerShell, Bash, Go).Someone with Proven experience with Linux/Unix/Windows Server Administration, CI/CD Automation, Application Containers (Docker), and Infrastructure and Application Monitoring.An individual that understands the value of providing a high level of customer service.Work EnvironmentFlores’ standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET with an hour lunch. This role operates in a professional hybrid office environment based out of our Charlotte office.
