Job descriptionWe have an immediate opening for a Commissioning Specialist/Field Engineer to join our Los Alamitos, CA office. This key role will be an integral part of a team dedicated to installation and service. We seek individuals with technical aptitude and a great attitude.
Primary Role
The primary role of the AV Commissioning Specialist is setting up and commissioning audio-visual equipment for customers. The Commissioning Specialist will lead, support, and interact with technicians, programmers, and customers.
Detailed Activities
Perform preventative maintenance services, routine testing, and problem diagnosis of integrated systemsRead and interpret architectural drawings, electronic schematics, and blueprintsTest point-to-point functionality of systems and confirm signal flow for audio, video, and controlReview project Scope of Work (SOW) to ensure quality and completeness of installationTest integrated systems and perform troubleshooting for AMX/Crestron and DSP systemsField installation of control programs (AMX/Crestron) – upload and download capabilityWrite code for DSP systemsMake minor programming changes under the direction of an engineer or programmerFine tune audio video systems to ensure optimal performanceConfigure IP addressable devices to establish communication on a networkPerform client training and final job documentation as neededAct as a customer liaison in absence of Project ManagerCreate, track, and complete a project PunchlistTravel to various job sites requiredCommunicate and interact with colleagues and customers in a professional and timely mannerWrite effective business communication and reportsUtilize test and calibration equipmentConduct user acceptance testingConduct basic programming (Crestron/AMX) changes and troubleshoot issuesDiagnose complex system problemsConfigure IP networkingSet up workstations (PC) on systemsInstall and integrate innovative AV technologies from manufacturers such as Barco, Biamp, Christie Digital, Crestron, Extron, Middle Atlantic, NVIDIA, Poly, Samsung, Shure, Sony and Microsoft TeamsManage multiple projects while adapting to changing prioritiesWork and think independently to ensure deadlines are metExemplify organizational skill and attention to detailAbility to regularly climb and work from ladders up to heights of 35 feet; lifting equipment, tools, and materials.
Job requirementsMinimum high school diploma or equivalentAdvanced knowledge of AV systems, and working knowledge of wall/ceiling construction techniquesMinimum 5 years of AV Integration experience preferredValid Driver’s License and clean Motor Vehicle Record

Travel
Regular local, and occasional out of state/overnight travel.
Work Hours
Normal work hours for the Commissioning Specialist/Field Engineer position are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.
Pay
Compensation range is $42/hr. - $54/hr. depending on experience.

These technology solutions include PowerWalls, virtual reality (VR) Rooms, and immersive stereo/3D technologies including motion capture labs.
Advanced Audio-Visual Integrations projects consist of large dvLED and other LED video wall solutions, control rooms, and other complex, sophisticated solutions.
IGI's Corporate AV systems provide users with the collaboration tools necessary to succeed in today’s ever evolving technological environment.
