Our client, a growing small manufacturer based in Walker, MI, is seeking a detail-oriented and resourceful Bookkeeper to join their team. Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)Handle payroll processing and support light HR administrative tasksReconcile bank statements and balance accounts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to proceduresPrepare and generate regular financial reports, including budget status reports for managementAssist in month-end and year-end close processes and collaborate with external CPAs or consultants as neededMonitor schedules for notes payable and receivable, and ensure proper accounting for bonds, securities, and interestCross-check financial data, verify accuracy, and maintain ledgers and journalsAssist with invoicing, credit, and collections processesUtilize Sage accounting software for daily operations and financial managementProvide light office support duties as necessary, such as reception and administrative tasks
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience as a full-charge Bookkeeper/Accountant, preferably in a small company environment2+ years of experience in payroll processingHigh school diploma required; additional education in accounting or finance is preferredProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general accounting software; experience with Sage is highly preferredStrong general ledger experienceAbility to analyze facts, solve problems, and make informed decisions with minimal supervisionExcellent organizational and multitasking skills, with attention to detail
Preferred Skills:
Experience preparing budget status reports and financial forecastsFamiliarity with credit and collections processesPrior experience in a manufacturing or related industry is a plus
