Responsibilities:
Performs all aspects and modalities of Respiratory Care to Health System patients per department guidelines.Responds to resuscitation situations and other respiratory emergencies when needed.Maintains and completes appropriate documentation in patients’ charts and departmental records.Performs as charge therapist when necessary.
Requirements
BCLS certified by the American Heart Association.Must have an understanding of medical terminology and current respiratory care modalities.Must have the ability to react calmly and maintain composure in stressful situations and when dealing with co-workers, patients, and hospital guests.Is knowledgeable of the psychosocial and physiological development and spiritual needs of infants, children, adolescents, and all adult age groups (per Erickson’s Model) in order to provide appropriate care and intervention, either personally or through staff.Must be able to communicate orally, have manual dexterity to operate and assemble equipment, visual acuity, able to stand or walk for long periods of time, able to position and move patients, and able to push heavy equipment to patients’ bedsides.This position may involve skin, eye, and mucous membranes with blood or other potentially infectious materials.RRT - National Board for Respiratory Care1 year experience
