As a Staff Software Engineer on Ridgeline's Users & Entitlements team, you will design, build, and maintain authentication and entitlement services that empower and secure our platform. You'll work closely with security, product engineering, and other teams to ensure seamless integration and uphold our Security First culture. Joining as one of our first 500 employees, you'll contribute to Ridgeline's pioneering mission to revolutionize the investment management industry.
What will you do?
Provide technical expertise for user authentication and authorization, performance, scalability, and securityActively contribute and review other teammate's codeActively create and review other teammate's technical design documentsDesign, build, and test solutions that integrate with Auth0 and Single Sign On Identity Providers to handle authenticationHandle On-Call rotations for production support of the authentication and authorization servicesBe involved in the entire software development process, including requirements and design, implementation, code reviews, automation, and testing through end product deliveryImpact a developing tech stack based on modern serverless frameworks and cost-efficient utilization of AWS back-end servicesCoach, mentor, and inspire teams of product engineers that are responsible for delivering high performing, secure enterprise applicationsProactively collaborate across Platform, Product, and Security teams as well as cross-functionally to establish partnerships and champion innovationDesired Skills and Experience
5+ years in a software engineering position with a history of architecting and designing new products and technologies2+ years experience engineering focusing on Identity and Access Management (IAM)Experience using Auth0 and Single Sign On (SSO) for authenticationHistory of architecting, designing, and delivering security-first enterprise applications in the cloud using agile development methodologiesExperience managing large and distributed code bases at scaleDeep knowledge of object-oriented programming such as Java, Kotlin, or PythonStrong experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQLExperience with critical infrastructure services including monitoring, alerting, and loggingExperience using issue tracking tools such as JIRAStrong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and architectural patternsA degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or a related disciplineAbility to focus on short-term deliverables while maintaining a big-picture perspectiveExcellent written and verbal communication skillsSerious interest in having fun at workBonus :
Understanding of building back-end infrastructure using AWS, with specific focus on RDS and LambdaExperience with messaging frameworks such as KafkaWorking knowledge in JavaScript, React, HTML, CSSFamiliarity with cloud based multi-region application architecturesExperience with testing frameworks such as Jest, Pytest, and CypressExperience developing mission-critical enterprise software applications

The typical starting salary range for new hires in this role is listed below. In select locations (including, the San Francisco Bay Area, CA, and the New York City Metro Area), an alternate range may apply as specified below.
The typical starting salary range for this role is: $165,000 to $200,000.
The typical starting salary range for this role in the select locations listed above is: $175,000 to $212,500.
Final compensation amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amount listed above.
