Overview
As a team member, the Quality Assurance Technician monitors, samples, and records food-safe production practices throughout the facility. They prioritize personnel and food safety at all times.
What FGF OffersFGF believes in Home Grown Talent, accelerated career growth with leadership training, unleashing your potentialCompetitive Compensation, Health & Welfare Benefits including Vision & Dental and flexible options at competitive premiums401k matching programDiscount program - Restaurants, gyms, shopping, etc.Tuition reimbursementShift: 7:00 PM- 7:00 AM Monday- Thursday/ Tuesday- FridayPay Rate: $24.00 +$1.00 shift premium from 6PM-6AMResponsibilitiesNotify management of observed needs on the production floor relating to quality or food safety.Support compliance with internal and external policies, procedures, guidelines and governance under the FGF quality Manual and the food safety and quality programs.Investigate and analyze product or raw material quality problems and develop, recommend, and implement corrective measures as necessaryFry off samples and evaluate resultsAudit sample data taken for use in the implementation of the plant's IPM (Integrated Process Management) SystemIdentify process problems through the use of statistical analysisSuggest and implement corrective measures to improve the manufacturing processesRecord and communicate results through reports, meetings, and voicemail as requiredMonitor incoming raw materials to ensure materials meet our specificationsEnsure compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) standards as well as HAACP compliance and other food safety and workplace safety initiativesSupport activities of other departments such as Production, Dry Warehouse, and Sanitation through auditingCommunicate with other departments to ensure that substandard product is identifiedEnsure that substandard product is not packed and/or shipped and that it is disposed of as waste, rework or thrift inventoryAssist in the development of standards and procedures for new and existing productsLead and contribute to the efforts of Continuous Improvement Teams
RequirementsHigh School diploma or GED equivalent2-year degree in laboratory / food science, or equivalent prior experience in food quality assuranceDemonstrated knowledge of statistics, SPC fundamentals, and laboratory skillsWorking knowledge of GMPs, HACCP and food safety complianceSolid computer proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Excel, Word, and Powerpoint are essentialExcellent verbal, written and presentation communication skillsAbility to function and contribute in a team environmentAIB or other food industry training is a plusSaturday Work required (most weekends)Ability to speak, read, and write EnglishAbility to visually inspect product and facility
