The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine is currently seeking an Associate Director of Communication & Engagement to join our team of professionals.Duties Include:Manages the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicines (HWCOM) annual stewardship program. Develops and implements tailored stewardship plans for individual donors, working closely with the development team to ensure alignment with the goals and priorities of HWCOM.Manages outreach and engagement efforts with medical alumni, families and friends of the medical school.Assists the Associate Dean for Development in assessing donors with a potential to provide additional funding, establishing a stewardship/cultivation approach which may additionally provide financial support to the University.Oversees and develops a donor communication strategy, including developing, writing, and editing donor acknowledgment letters, proposals, reports, and other high-level communications. Collaborates with the HWCOM marketing and public relations team to align communication strategies across the unit.Collaborates with faculty, academic departments, and other campus units to gather and curate content for donor communication materials, ensuring timely and impactful stewardship.Manages the planning and execution of key donor events and recognition activities, including the logistical aspects such as event budgets, vendor relationships, and guest engagement strategies.Works with the Associate Dean for Development to evaluate program outcomes, identify areas for improvement, and implement new strategies to enhance donor relationships and stewardship efforts.Oversees the creation and dissemination of substantive donor impact reports, ensuring endowment income is spent in accordance with donor intent and shared with key stakeholders.Supervises assigned staff, providing leadership in donor relations activities and guiding them in day-to-day responsibilities.Collaborates with the Office of Advancement to ensure consistent approaches to donor stewardship across the institution and alignment with overarching advancement strategies.Performs related duties as required or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.Ensures DRS Data Integrity for Top 100 Donors + BOD/BOT with GS and VL partners.Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and seven (7) years of experience with donor relations and stewardship, as well as planning and coordinating events. Five (5) years of experience managing a program or team.Desired Qualifications

Proven skills in narrative and persuasive writingKnowledge of Raisers Edge.Knowledge of planning, production, and management of various event types (Small, Large, High Profile, etc.) for diverse and distinguished guestsDemonstrated project management, time management, and organizational skills; with the ability to manage details of multiple and complex projects within set deadlines.Experience in a higher education environment preferred.Job Category
