Humble ISD - Attorney/Assistant General Counsel
Primary Purpose: Assist the General Counsel to provide in-house legal services to the Board of Trustees, Superintendent, and staff on school district matters to promote and protect the interests of the school district, including the interpretation of statutes, case law, contracts, student rights, policies, and other legal issues under the direct supervision of the General Counsel. Work is complex and broad in scope supporting departments and divisions across the District. Qualifications: Education/Certification:
Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree from an American Bar Association approved law school. Licensed to practice law in the State of Texas. Member in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
Experience: Three years’ experience in public or private practice dealing with legal issues of local, state, federal government, or public school law.
Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of Federal, State, and local laws, regulations relating to public education. Knowledge and experience in working with special education law (preferred). Knowledge and experience in open governance laws including the Texas Public Information Act and the Texas Open Meetings Act (preferred). Salary Range:
Up to 136,004 commensurate with experience
