.NET Azure Architect (onsite)
Cognizant, Washington, District of Columbia, us, 20022
The Role:Cognizant is looking for an experienced and innovative Senior .NET/Azure Architect to serve our diverse base of global clients. As a member of our team, you will build cutting edge, cloud-based software that powers modern business. An ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working in a diverse, collaborative, geographically distributed team. Similarly, the ideal candidate is an expert engineer who values the “team”, drives continuous improvement and is unafraid to challenge the legacy status quo with creative cloud-based solutions.
Location:
This is an onsite role working in Washington DC.
Responsibilities:Collaborate with stakeholders to understand workload requirements, performance expectations, and scalability needs.Consider factors such as virtual machines (VMs), containers, serverless computing, and batch processing.Determine the appropriate compute resources (VM sizes, instance types, etc.) based on workload characteristics.Balance cost-effectiveness with performance requirements. Implement auto-scaling strategies to handle varying workloads.Be capable of designing for High availability and fault tolerance. Optimize parallel processing, GPU utilization, and distributed computing.Ensure efficient data movement and synchronization.Design event-driven workflows that respond dynamically to triggers.Leverage Azure Event Grid and Azure Event Hubs.Integrate security best practices into compute designs.Implement access controls, encryption, and network segmentation.Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.Define monitoring metrics for compute resources. Set up alerts, logging, and diagnostics.Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and optimize resource utilization. In depth understanding of the business environment, its processes and complexities of the organization and apply the knowledge towards the proposed work program.Design and validate solutions that are practical, flexible, resilient, scalable, reusable, and strategic.Promote component-based development, emphasizing reusability and consistency.Recognize and identify potential areas where existing policies and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed, especially regarding future business expansion. Present, discuss, and walk through the merits of the solutions recommendations with a group of enterprise architects.Institute and lead the adoption of best practices and standards, to improve the quality of the deliverables.
Qualifications·
13+ years of experience in architecting/designing compute-intensive solutions with .net and Azure.Design compute workloads utilizing networking components and micro segmentation Familiarity with IAM, Azure Policy and Private Link configuration Provide a long-term vision for the platform, considering changes in technology within the context of ITS current implementation and our feature roadmap.Domain knowledge with Loan/Lending Design compute architectures that optimize resource utilization, minimize latency, and enhance overall system performance.Be capable of designed transactional compute patterns with compensation patterns Explore serverless computing options (Azure Functions, Logic Apps, etc.) for event-driven workloads.
