Here, you’ll do more than join something — you’ll add something.The Apple Vision Products Group is designing products that seamlessly blend digital content within your physical environment, allowing us to experience the things we love in ways never before possible!DescriptionThe Product Design Engineer role will give you direct responsibility over the mechanical design, analysis, assembly and reliability of parts within Apple Vision products, spanning the full design cycle from concept generation, prototyping, testing and collaborating with vendors to bring your design to life. You will frequently engage in multi-disciplinary collaboration with teams like Industrial Design, Project Management, Manufacturing, EE, Display, Camera, Antenna, Battery, Softgoods, Human Engineering, Safety and more.Minimum QualificationsBachelors degree in mechanical engineering6 years of hands-on product design experienceStrong mechanical engineering analytical skills, experience selecting materials and manufacturing processes based on engineering requirementsProficiency in 3D CAD, creating 2D drawings and practical application of GD&TProficiency in tolerance analyses with statistical techniquesExperience working in technical project groups in a professional environmentPractical experience working with external manufacturing vendors (DFM/DFA, FAI/CPK dimensional reports)Thorough knowledge of engineering materials, understanding of property tradeoffs and interpreting FEA resultsExcellent verbal and written communication skills including emails, slide presentations and presenting technical concepts to multi-disciplinary teamsExperience with failure analysis, root cause investigation, and DOE creationDetail orientated and capable of handling multiple assignments at oncePreferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or similar fieldExperience designing consumer electronics with knowledge across most of these disciplines: wearables, optics and lenses, cameras, sensors, displays, PCBs and flexes, antennas, batteries, thermals, mechanisms, comfort and ergonomicsFluent in Unigraphics NX including surfacing, statistical software (JMP), MacOSExperience working through full product cycle including mass production and collaborating with Asian manufacturing facilitiesAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
