This is an opportunity for a motivated lawyer to provide legal support to HCSC's legal team and other internal business partners supporting HCSC Medicaid managed care/CHIP programs. HCSC is the largest customer-owned health insurer in the United States, operating through its Blue Cross and Blue Shield plans in Illinois, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. In addition to its offerings in these core states, HCSC is proud to serve millions of people across the nation through a diverse portfolio of products.The ideal candidate will provide sound, actionable legal advice on regulatory and operational matters involving state Medicaid/CHIP program issues, and other state and federal healthcare regulatory issues. A successful candidate will serve as a partner to our business leaders in developing adaptive strategies to support HCSC's established business and to further its growth while continually advancing HCSC's goal of expanding access to quality, cost-effective health care.The position can be based in Chicago, Illinois; Richardson, Texas; Tulsa, Oklahoma; Albuquerque, New Mexico; Helena, Montana, or Nashville, Tennessee.Please note this role is a hybrid role. This requires in-office hours 3 days a week at the respective office location.Sponsorship is not available for this position.JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Juris Doctor Degree and a license to practice law in the state where the position is located.8 years' experience as an attorney with demonstrated understanding/experience of the health care or insurance field.Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.Negotiation and diplomacy skills.PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge or understanding of the health care, health insurance, or claim administration field.5+ years' experience with state Medicaid/CHIP program issues, such as policies, regulations, and guidance issued by state Medicaid agencies and/or CMS, state and federal legislative and regulatory activity related to Medicaid/CHIP, Medicaid/CHIP managed care delivery systems, contracting, payment integrity, coverage issues, member grievances, reimbursement, or models/demonstration projects under section 1115 of the Social Security Act.Strong business collaboration and writing skills, including the ability to clearly provide legal counsel and solutions to complex issues.#LI-AZ1#LI-HYBRIDAre you being referred to one of our roles?
