Job Description Vertex Cell & Genetic Therapies (VCGT) is seeking an experienced Raw Material Planning Senior Manager to execute raw material strategy and execution including the creation of demand, supply and buy plans for direct and indirect materials used across multiple manufacturing sites and supporting all VCGT programs. This position will support Vertex's cell and gene programs with focused in Process Development material planning. The Senior Manager, Raw Material Planning will join the fast-growing Material and Technical Operations team and report to the Associate Director of Supply Planning. This role will support planning needs for new materials from introduction to clinical manufacturing and across multiple process development and CMC teams. Responsibilities:

Performs routine demand review meetings with stakeholders to forecast program and study level needs. Monitors inventory across multiple platforms and teams, performing scenario analysis for changing study and run schedules. Works closely with procurement, strategic sourcing and finance teams ensuring alignment on budgeting and vendor selections. Makes direct purchases as needed for experimental or newly identified materials. Creates routine demand, supply and buy plans based on end user needs and material analysis. Represents Material Operations department on assigned project sub-teams and/or task forces and, with general guidance, executes supply chain production activities. Works with various cross-functional groups (such as Quality, Tech Ops, Regulatory, suppliers, etc.) to proactively and collaboratively resolve issues that may block the timely flow of materials or projects. Monitors, tracks and socializes new/transitioning raw materials with needed stakeholders and maintains transition timelines in alignment with PD/CMC leadership. Contributes to overall strategic development of a supply planning function including working with other cross functional leaders. Prioritize and track high risk materials and their potential impact to our business and production operation. Collaborate with key stakeholders to help solve supplier and material related issues (backorders, product quality concerns). Communicate progress to management and key stakeholders on material plan changes and ensures safety stock levels remain aligned with business needs. Identify and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruption and delays, supplier product and/or manufacturing changes and supplier inability to support current or future demands. Analyze raw material consumption across the global supply chain. Identify areas of risk and cost savings opportunities. Partner with Research and Development teams and support new material introduction by proactively sourcing multiple supply chain options for new raw materials identified. Execute all actions in accordance with established procedures and processes. Recommend improvements to such processes and system needs. Utilize business systems (Oracle ERP, Rapid Response) to understand data. Research past and expected spend levels to understand and action areas of cost savings opportunities and potential risk. Maintain strong cross functional relationships to bolster communication with internal and external stakeholders. Works with teams in materials management and master data to ensure appropriate management of inventory and material data. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain/Manufacturing Operations-related disciplines. 6+ years of Biotech, Pharmaceutical or CRO company related work experience. Ability to contribute to complex contract negotiations. Possesses a distinguished record of delivering on critical project goals and moving projects forward. Exhibits robust knowledge across supply chain disciplines. Strong knowledge in overall drug development. Demonstrates strong aptitude for managing and motivating others and building team unity. Proven ability to communicate clearly and concisely (written/oral) with all levels of the company. High level understanding of GMP processes and regulatory requirements. Ability to effectively plan, prioritize, execute, follow up and anticipate challenges. Results oriented with strong sense of urgency to mitigate risk and close issues. Knowledge of ERP setups with skills and proficiency to include MRP and ability to download and analyze data. Experience with quality management systems (change controls, deviations, etc.). Ability to communicate complex problems and necessary decision points both visually and verbally. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Flex Designation:

Hybrid : work remotely up to two days per week;
