Reporting to the Vice President of Global Marketing, this commercial leader plays a vital role in leading, managing, and delivering on ~$4B dollars of global annual revenue. Building a high-performance team, this leader will focus on accelerating the adoption of our key technologies, delivering incredible product launches to the market in a manner that supports the success of regional teams in their pursuit to win market share. Driving strong commercial marketing fundamental principles globally, this individual will help lead the organization to achieve +3.5% growth sustainably, while demonstrably gaining share in key global markets while garnering the full value of disciplined portfolio management.Responsibilities

Global Commercial Leadership:

Build and execute commercial marketing plans to exceed the Annual Operating Plan and financial business objectives for the strategic planning period. Evolve our branding strategy, product positioning and messaging. Develop global platform promotional strategies, launch materials, sales support tools, and educational aids etc. that allow regions to grow market-share and ensure channel excellence.Regional Engagement:

Provide strategic market, pricing, and product positioning guidance to regional partners to drive healthy financial performance and increased forecasting accuracy. Drive partnership and alignment on local campaigns that advance critical technology and procedural adoption.Portfolio Management and Health:

Collaborate with regional markets on obtaining forecasts for strategic planning and new product launches, establishing and implementing product rationalization strategies, and engaging in BDL activities. Evaluate market trends, financial analysis, and changing customer habits to lead downstream execution of margin expansion initiatives through pricing programs, purchasing programs, product rationalization, kitting, and other promotional approaches.Represent Customer Voice:

Qualitatively capture and communicate customer habits to provide required marketing inputs to the fit / form / function of our current and future products. Provide feedback and insight on the commercial sell-ability of innovation ideas in the NPD process as well as the regional voice for programs that pursue reducing standard cost, labeling & packaging changes, IFU indications, etc. Attend QATF and VATF activities with Plant Manufacturing as the voice of customer. Work with regional commercial partners to ensure we have the optimal amount of inventory for customer satisfaction and business financial success.Team Development:

Will be responsible for investing in and developing the key marketing talent that will grow into our marketing leaders of tomorrow. This leader will encourage the pursuit of IDP’s, monitoring progress and providing feedback; while also working side by side in the functional and technical skill development of their employees. They will embrace creativity, diversity of every manner, and provide the opportunity for smart risk taking.Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree required.At least 15 years' prior relevant experience within organizations of similar size/scope. Current Director or equivalent experience level.At least 10 years' experience in a managerial role.Track record of driving results in a downstream marketing capacity with demonstrated achievement of business goals.Demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively within a highly matrixed, global organization.Highly effective verbal communication skills.Demonstrated ability to effectively coach and lead others.Must reside within geographic area (Minneapolis, Boston or Lafayette CO) or be willing to relocate.Must be willing to travel globally up to 35% of the time.Preferred Qualifications

MBA or advanced degree preferred.5+ years' Director / Senior Director experience.Demonstrated ability to learn technical information and apply technical concepts.High level of financial acumen, forecasting and budget management.Demonstrated experience in strategic planning.Strong understanding of surgical procedures and product performance.Strong analytical skills to analyze and complete financial/profitability analysis, project sales forecasts, and quantitative market segmentation models.Excellent IT skills, including proficient knowledge of Microsoft Suite.Physical Job Requirements

PR) locations (USD): $220,800.00 - $331,200.00.This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP). This position is eligible for an annual long-term incentive plan.The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico. Base pay is based on numerous factors and may vary by job-related knowledge, skills, experience, etc. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).About Medtronic
