applies systems infrastructure concepts and campus, medical center or Office of the President objectives to resolve issues, up to and including the most complex, with campuswide, medical center or Office of the President and/or institution-wide impact. Works on issues, up to and including the most complex, with little or no campus, medical center or Office of the President or institutional precedent where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Is considered a subject matter expert at campus, medical center or Office of the President. Gives technical presentations to senior management and campuswide, medical center or Office of the President and/or institution-wide audiences. Represents department/campus, medical center or Office of the President IT on campuswide, medical center or Office of the President and/or institution-wide and systemwide committees. Sets technical direction and architecture for technology in one or more specialties. Functions as a technical lead/subject matter expert. $113,500 - $258,100 (Annual Rate)Department DescriptionThe California Poison Control System (CPCS) is a 24 hour-a-day informational and emergency management advice hotline serving residents statewide in California. It is designated by the California Emergency Medical Services Authority and managed by the UCSF School of Pharmacy, Department of Clinical Pharmacy. CPCS operates from 4 UC-affiliated answering sites (UCSF/ZSFG, UCDMC, Valley Children's Hospital, and UCSD) managing approximately 250,000 calls per year, utilizing the most up-to-date computerized information systems.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.Minimum 10 years IT management or leadership experience to include:demonstrated ability to interface with all levels of technical and non-technical management on a regular basis.identification and use of code libraries and open-source forums.planning for deployment and creation of feedback mechanisms.developing and implementing complex-interdependent project plans.researching and evaluating new technology and solutions for the most complex environments.ability to impart knowledge to all levels of technical and non-technical audiences and to influence outcomes to meet objectives.demonstrated ability to identify software and hardware interdependences in a highly complex multi-platform environment.demonstrated ability to develop solutions for highly complex business and systems/custom/ad-hoc solutions.highly complex multi-platform troubleshooting in a multi-platform environment.Experience leading a team of IT professionals in multiple technology areas.Experience with determining how systems and technology should operate most efficiently and how changes to technology systems will affect outcomes, operations and business objectives.
