MAT/Medical Assistant is to work as part of an interdisciplinary team to ensure

We provide the highest quality health and dental care for our patients by utilizing the latest standards and most advanced technology in a professional atmosphere.What you will do:The Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for performing a variety of duties working collaboratively with the medical provider and care coordinators/site coordinator. MA is part of a team creating an atmosphere that is receptive to others thoughts and concerns to provide compassionate care between our patients and effective communication to the staff.
The MA is involved in both the clinical and clerical duties of the practice to deliver optimal patient care services within the scope of the medical assistant's professional expertise. The MA may provide care, which is considered routine, poses little potential hazard for the patient, involve little or no modification from one client-care situation to another, be performed with a predictable outcome, or does not inherently involve ongoing assessments, interpretations, or decision-making, which could not be logically separated from the procedure itself. The MA must be certified and recertified in compliance with the MAs individual certification requirement.Duties include but are not limited to:Participate in morning team huddlesParticipate in pre-visit planning activitiesPrepare exam rooms and patient for examination, treatment/procedures and assist providerPerform patient care procedures keeping in mind the age specific needs of the patientPrepare and administer medications and immunizations, under physician supervisionDocument data collected during the patient care process via electronic or paper medical recordCollect and process specimens for laboratory testing and completes appropriate paperwork or electronic documentation necessaryOrder diagnostic studies per physician request and follow up with patient's results via proper protocol or standing orderKeep inventory and process sample medications, prescriptions and refills, as directed by the physician.Maintain the dignity and confidentiality of the patientDocumentation accurately reflects the patient care givenMaintain patient registries as neededRecognize and respond appropriately to emergency situationsCoordinate patient flowAct as a clinical preceptorPerform tasks as delegated by Provider in a timely mannerPerforms other duties as assignedRequirements:Qualifications, Education, and KnowledgeMedical Assistant diploma/degree from an accredited school and/or formal training program requiredDocumentation as a certified/registered medical assistant requiredComputer experience required, EMR preferred, NextGen PreferredCPR certification requiredOne to two years physician office experience preferredAttendance required at assigned CHDC site(s)CHDC is an EOE/Veterans/Disabled/LGBTQ+ employer.
