The Senior Associate Benefits Professional work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

The Senior Associate Benefits Professional utilizes deep understanding of contemporary practice and the associate community to develop and implement competitive benefit offerings that contribute to associates’ well-being and emphasize perceived value while balancing expense and business requirements, including regulatory compliance. Begins to influence department’s strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

The Senior Associate Benefits Professional will collaborate with subject matters experts in the Benefits, Well-being, and Compensation teams and also with HR and division operational leadership in understanding, quantifying, and communicating benefit change impacts.

Under the general direction and oversight of the Director of Benefits, this role will serve the primary roles under the core functions:

Benefits Design:

Compare divisional benefit offerings to appropriate peer companies, industry benchmarks, and acquisition targets to determine appropriate offerings.

Partner with SMEs within Benefits and in other departments to design benefit offerings ensuring compliance.

Develop the implementation strategy, timeline, and overall process for new benefits and benefit changes.

Partner with the business unit operations and communication teams to develop both high level and employee specific communication plans for benefit changes.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Management or a related field

5+ years of relevant experience in data science or analytics

Advanced Excel capabilities including the ability to perform vlookup functions, if statements, and pivot tables to merge multiple data sets, clean and organize data, and develop and present insights

Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Strong communication skills both written and verbal

Comprehensive knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications

Preferred skills

3+ years of experience in finance/accounting

3+ years of experience working in employee benefits or varying HR fields

Work-At-Home Requirements:

To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria:

• At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested

• Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership

• Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.

• Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

• Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$76,800 - $105,800 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
