Position Summary and Responsibilities
Pennwood Cyber Charter School seeks a dynamic and solutions-oriented leader to serve as Assistant Principal. This position supports all students in receiving a high-quality, college and career focused K12 cyber education.
The Assistant Principal works collaboratively with the CEO and Pennwood Leadership Team to build and maintain a safe, supportive culture, high-quality teaching and learning and efficient day-to-day operations. The Assistant Principal works closely with the Educational Service Partner, Pearson Virtual Schools, in areas such as Family and Student Support, Enrollment Assistance, Technology and Materials Support, and Instructional Training and Development. It is also anticipated that this individual will supervise instructional and administrative staff, as well as lead and manage a range of special projects and duties, including state-mandated protocols for K12 schools in the state of Pennsylvania.
Working frequently from the York area office and also from their home, the Assistant Principal will manage staff as they instruct and advise students and Learning Coaches, ensuring that each child successfully completes their instructional program. The Assistant Principal may report to the Chief Executive Officer or Principal.
Key Responsibilities
Support student learning through instructional coaching and staff development, parent relationships and community partnerships;Manage the implementation of the proven Connections Academy instructional programming and operational protocols;Contribute to a positive school culture, including but not limited to using tools and events to promote a healthy culture like surveys, socials and recognitions;Coordinate and manage staff professional development;Facilitate communication between teachers, Learning Coaches/Caretakers, and students;Support School Leadership in operationalizing the school’s budget and various grants;Support School Leadership in creating and monitoring the school’s school improvement plan;Motivate and supervise staff in pursuit of school goals;Serve as the technology liaison for staff;Monitor all student enrollments and communicate enrollment criteria and issue escalation to the Enrollment Team;Support state testing including student participation, staff oversight and on-site testing coordination;Support the Marketing Team with student outreach, marketing and public relations, and being available to travel for such duties or events;Serve as a member of the K12 Leadership TeamSupervise and evaluate school staff as required by state;Develop and lead the Teacher Induction and Onboarding ProgramStay current on the state’s policies, procedures and legislationBe available to handle parent and student concerns; andOther duties as assigned.Capabilities
