OverviewLMI is seeking a Senior Data Science Consultant to lead in developing, testing, and fielding advanced algorithms in support of a supply chain risk program for the Department of Defense.
Responsibilities
Leverage deep and broad knowledge of advanced data science concepts to streamline the curation and analysis of complex supply-chain data
Use knowledge of advanced topics in data science, such as active learning, semi-supervised learning, bias calculation, etc.
Write python, spark, and SQL code to prepare and analyze data in both research and production environments
Work closely with data engineers, UI developers, and subject matter experts to develop and deploy data science methods in support of an evolving software suite
Lead and execute on data science tasking in support of multiple teams, coordinating prioritization across them as needed
Rapidly spin up on new data science topics and methods as they become applicable to the project
Work comfortably in a Databricks environment, where most code is developed, tested, and deployed via notebooks
Quickly learn, and be excited to leverage, novel data science techniques to solve real-world challenges involving large scale, often messy data sets
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field and/or equivalent work experience
3-10 years of experience as a data scientist
Experience with:
Agile-based development
Python, Spark, notebooks
Data Bricks or similar environment
Scikit-learn or similar python packages
Highly effective analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills
Active DoD Secret clearance required (Top Secret clearance desired)
