Duties & Responsibilities: Creates and maintains marketing strategies based on the goals of the Company. Reviews business development activities at appropriate business development meetings. Coordinates with other personnel to prepare proposal packages. Maintains records for all business development activities. Draft proposals and miscellaneous business development correspondence. Develop leads, conducts follow-up activities, monitor incoming leads and follow up until they become jobs. If jobs are awarded to another firms, coordinate debriefing. May provide business development input in appropriate public relations releases and materials for publication. Maintains listings and directories of municipal (city/township/county) officials as well as other contacts. Knowledge of competitive firms. Monitors newspapers, magazines, and other publications of a business nature as a lead finding activity and method of keeping track of market trends. Coordinates with the staff and clients to schedule, organize, and attend job interviews. Consistent interface with public sector clients and prospective clients. Manage multiple high-priority tasks, monitoring prospective opportunities and funding streams. Knowledge/understanding of public and private markets including the politics and process of how a job is awarded. Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors in Engineering, Marketing or Public Relations, preferred. 5 or more years' sales and marketing experience in Engineering, Architecture or another related field. Have complete knowledge and understanding, in public and private markets, of the inner workings of the contract awards process and procedures; including the politics involved. Ability to travel with-in assigned territory 80% or more. Evening and weekend hours frequently required. Occasional overnight travel.
