We are looking for folks who are passionate about cannabis manufacturing and want to help us move the dial forward on building an inclusive and professional cannabis culture.
Through innovated delivery systems designed to provide thoughtfully dosed products, our Workshop creates goods for both novice and seasoned cannabis users. Our expert cannabis confectioners create products of the highest quality with the support of local partnerships that honor Portland's maker culture.
Currently we are recruiting for a
Production Specialist
to work in our commercial kitchen environment.
The Production Specialist ensures that all product is manufactured in accordance with standard operating procedures and ensures that all products meet the company's quality standards while maintaining efficiency, accuracy, and compliance while in timely communication with production team members.
A day in the life for this position may include responsibilities like:
Making cannabis edible confections and topicals including chocolates, gumdrops, caramels, mints, drinks, cookies, fudge and other health and beauty products.
The production specialist will manage candy cooks, deposit product into molds, pop product out of molds, temper chocolate, mix and bake cookies as well as other products.
They will support packaging and inventory management efforts with task ranging from stickering to boxing and counting finished product.
Partnering with a team of cannabis confection professionals to compete the production plan by following scheduling and assignments, accomplishing work tasks, and following established priorities
Following all written work instruction including but not limited to product recipes and formulas, Standard Operating Procedures, checklists, and other instructions as needed
Assisting in maintaining the inventory of raw ingredients, work in process, and finished product
Cleaning the production space at the end of each day

Qualifications
An excellent candidate for this position will have:
Experience in fast paced food manufacturing settings
Ability to consistently do repetitive tasks
Solid problem-solving skills
Ability to effectively manage a large volume of detail-oriented tasks
The ability to repeatedly lift 50 pounds
Demonstrated ability to give and receive constructive feedback in an efficient, meaningful, and timely manner
Basic knowledge of food science
Understanding of inventory management systems
The experience we often see correlated with success in this role is:
1-2 years minimum experience work in a commercial kitchen environment or in food manufacturing using a variety of equipment such as kettles, depositors, and scales
Cannabis industry or traditional confectionary experience
Food manufacturing experience
Familiarity with cannabis tracking systems and various operational technology platforms
The important requirements for this role include:
All cannabis industry employees must be age 21 or older and hold or obtain a valid OLCC Marijuana Handler's permit
Candidates must have an up-to-date Food Handlers Card
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, and kneel daily in a variety of production environments that include concrete or other hard-surface floors and, in some instances, staircases
Ability to push, pull and carry up to 50 pounds multiple times daily
Ability to maintain focus and memory in environments with distractions such as heavy foot traffic, background noise due to public conversations and the gathering of people, etc.
Ability to work in hot or cold environments
