The Center for Career and Professional Development at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's Daytona Beach Campus is currently accepting applications for Sr. Career Development Advisor. Center for Career and Professional Development works with students in specific degree programs to prepare them for career opportunities, while also connecting with companies to recruit those students. The Senior Advisor will provide expert guidance and support to international students, empowering them to navigate career opportunities effectively within the global job market. Responsibilities: Individual Career Advising: Conduct individual career counseling sessions with international students to assess career interests, strengths, and goals for the Daytona Beach campus with additional occasional support for Prescott campus. Provide personalized guidance on job search strategies, resume and cover letter writing, interview preparation, networking techniques, and cultural considerations in the job application process. Guide students in researching industries, occupations, and graduate school opportunities. Workshops and Seminars: Development presentations, workshops, seminars, and information sessions tailored to the career development needs of international students. Topics may include cultural adaptation in the workplace, visa regulations related to employment, navigating U.S. job markets, and leveraging international experiences for career advancement. Employer Engagement and Networking: Cultivate relationships with employers, alumni, and industry professionals to expand internship and job opportunities for international students. Organize networking events, employer panels, and career fairs specifically targeted towards connecting international students with potential employers. Program Development and Management: Develop and implement specialized career development programs and resources for international students, addressing unique challenges and opportunities they may encounter. Collaborate with International Student and Scholar Services, and academic departments, to integrate international student career development into the overall student experience. Data Management and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of advising sessions, workshops, and student outcomes using the center's database systems. Prepare reports and analyses to assess the effectiveness of international student career services. Professional Development and Outreach: Stay informed about global career trends, international job markets, and cultural nuances impacting career development through professional development activities and networking. Represent the university at regional and national conferences, workshops, and professional associations focused on international student career development. Qualifications

Master's degree in Counseling, Higher Education Administration, International Education, or a related field required Minimum of 3 years of experience in career advising, counseling, or student services with a specialization in supporting international students. Deep understanding of cultural adjustment issues, visa regulations, and career development challenges faced by international students. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and effectively communicate with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. Experience in program development, workshop facilitation, and event planning within a higher education or similar setting. Proficiency in using career services management systems, technology platforms, and social media for career development purposes.

Salaried position, with occasional evenings and weekend activities required for events and presentations.
