Job Summary

The System Manager, Language Services is responsible for the overall development and operation of the language services and cultural support program system wide. This role provides leadership to drive the organizational imperative delivering culturally and linguistically competent care.

Responsibilities • Manages the day-to-day operations of language services department throughout the system and maintains effective relationships with language service vendors• Works to communicate system-wide how important culturally and linguistically competent delivery of care is to the organization now and in the future• Provides leadership and collaboration with key departments and service lines across the care continuum around process improvements for delivery of culturally competent care and works to understand any challenges or anticipated support on an ongoing basis• Responds to requests for interpreters in a timely manner• Develops corrective action and implementation plans in conjunction with stakeholders across the organization and recommends action plans and in-service training of staff• Responsible for recruiting, onboarding and performance reviews• Identifies areas of care delivery vulnerability on an on-going basis, works with leadership to develop specific action plans focused on vulnerability and provides general guidance to on how to avoid/ deal with similar situations in the future

• Assists with developing budget and productivity targets for department

• Provides staff with leadership and guidance around career development, their role as part of a high performing team and removing roadblocks that preclude meeting department goals• Maintains compliance with all company policies, procedures and standards of conduct • Complies with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to maintain confidentiality at all times• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications Education: • Bachelor’s degree in related field (required)• Masters degree in related field (preferred)

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years language service experience (required)• A minimum of five (5) years of management experience (preferred)

Certification: • CMI (National Board of Medical Interpreters) or CCHI (Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters) certification (CCHI certification commission for Interpreters) (required)
