Job Summary
This is a part-time and limited term position that will be located in Dadeville, AL. Continuation of employment is contingent upon availability of funding.
The Agent Assistant will be responsible for implementing and coordinating the goals and objectives for the Tallapoosa County 4-H program.
For the County 4-H Program, the Agent Assistant will work with schools and volunteers to coordinate and/or facilitate in-school, after-school, and special interest community 4-H clubs.

Essential FunctionsThe Agent Assistant will serve as a liaison with Alexander City Schools and surrounding community; promote 4-H and foster member and parent participation; keep 4-Hers informed about upcoming events and deadlines; perform 4-H enrollment data entry; assist with day camp opportunities; work with the County 4-H Team when planning programs and events.The Agent Assistant will support the 4-H Youth Development Coordinator or County Extension Coordinator during 4-H programs; assist with county and regional 4-H events as-needed, and lead 4-H in-school club meetings and programs.The Agent Assistant will also create social media posts to promote 4-H programs and may help create educational videos for virtual programs.The Agent Assistant will follow and adapt research-based lesson plans designed to broaden youth social and cognitive skills through hands-on activities.The Agent Assistant serves as a member of the County 4-H Centennial Youth Initiative Team and assists with County 4-H and Extension activities.The successful applicant must have a demonstrated interest in working with youth ages 5-19 concerning a variety of issues.Must have good organizational skills to efficiently and accurately maintain records of youth educational sessions and progress, as well as follow the guidelines and policies of the Alabama Cooperative Extension System (ACES).Must have a sincere interest in working with volunteers and professional staff in an educational setting, and the ability to recruit, train and motivate volunteers while nurturing positive self esteem, decision-making and leadership skills; ability to follow instructions related to work with minimum supervision from professional staff.Must be able to work collaboratively and professionally with families and co-workers; must have a willingness to become familiar with and work within the ACES philosophy and guidelines.Must have effective communication and human relations skills; a working knowledge in operating a personal computer (i.e. software programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) are all critical.Must have access to reliable transportation. Travel to program sites is reimbursed monthly in accordance with Auburn University & ACES policies and procedures.Minimum Qualifications

Level I- High school diploma or equivalent plus 4 years of experience in the organization and/or presentation of pre-designed educational programs/services, customer service, administrative support/clerical or related experience.
Level II-
High school diploma or equivalent plus 6 years of experience in the organization and/or presentation of pre-designed educational programs/services, customer service, administrative support/clerical or related experience.
Substitutions allowed for Experience: Degrees accepted in lieu of experience, at a rate of one (1) year relevant education per year of required experience.
