Position Purpose:

The Senior Insights Analyst will apply advanced analytics to support the evaluation and development of new demand generation, product assortment, costing, pricing and supply chain models, forecasting, and other needs of GWW Globally.  This will require expert ability in data acquisition (internal and external to GWW), cleansing and manipulation; mathematical modeling; analytical and heuristic solution methods; and the ability to synthesize, visualize and communicate the result and create a tool at scale to drive recommended course of action to/for GWW different businesses.  This role will require close collaboration with other functions within the Insights & Analytics team, in addition to other departments within GWW to align around the sequencing of priorities and ensure the appropriate path to value. This role is expected to help create models in addition to coaching team members in model creation.

Primary Responsibilities:

Perform complex data research and analysis to provide insights and strategic guidance for GWW different Businesses: Guest Supply (Distribution), Gilchrist & Soames (G&S), Manchester Mills (MM), Marketing, Supply Chain & HR.   Analysis may be applied to various areas of the GWW business including but not limited to Market Economics, Supply Chain, Marketing/Advertising and Scientific Research.

  • Identify necessary data elements and their sources, leverage appropriate tools to acquire and consolidate large volumes of data from different internal and external sources, and identify and resolve any irrelevant, corrupt, missing, or incongruent data.
  • Identify and use appropriate advanced analytic tools, technologies and platforms to execute analysis against business requirements, including the ability to scale, deploy and distribute models across the enterprise as needed.
  • Develop performance scorecards and dashboards to monitor the adoption, implementation, and impact of models and strategies.
  • Create data mining architectures/models/protocols, statistical reporting, and data analysis methodologies to identify trends in large data sets. 
  • Researching and applying knowledge of existing and emerging data science principles, theories, and techniques to inform business decisions 
  • Use data tools such as Excel, Alteryx, Phocas, Peoplesoft, Salesforce.com, STR, Safegraph and Tableau to complete research and analysis.

Forecasting and P&L information requirements: 

  • Close collaboration with other functions within the Insights & Analytics team and other departments to provide reporting and analysis for forecasting & P&L needs for all areas within GWW organization to make business decisions.
  • Manage the research process for various projects including RFP’s as needed.
  • Work cross-functionally with other roles within the Insights & Analytics team and GWW Enterprise to tune models and ensure value created from models.
  • Collaborate with business process owners to validate model outputs and construct appropriate training.
  • Leverage different communication tools (e.g., TEAMS, videos, reports, dashboards, Tableau) to share results with key stakeholders and ensure understanding across the enterprise.

Other Tasks as assigned

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Market research or related field.        

Experience:

  • 5+ years in market research, trends, or similar job function

Skills

  • Ability to link primary research with analytics model in collaboration with data science & market insights and intelligence teams
  • Ability to conduct statistical analysis to identify result
  • Ability to manage a project
  • Education or experience in research design a plus
  • Demonstrated skill in data analysis techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information, inconsistencies/anomalies in more complex research/data.
  • Advanced computer skills and proficient knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs with an emphasis on Excel is required.  Experience working with Alteryx, PeopleSoft, Phocas, Salesforce.com, Tableau, or High Jump is a plus.
  • Knowledge of key business, financial and accounting metrics and principles.
  • A mastery of organizational and project management skills, including the ability to plan, prioritize and execute multiple initiatives/deadlines autonomously and shift priorities as necessary.  Able to manage large, complex projects.   Uses time effectively. 
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and professional interactive skills are necessary to perform at a high degree of proficiency.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from suppliers, customers, management and inter-department staff.  Capable of working with internal staff from other departments in a proactive and constructive manner.
