The Vice President of Finance(CFO) serves as the chief financial officer for the College, responsible for the oversight and delivery of general financial administrative functions, including budget development and management; long-range fiscal planning and resource allocation; financial reporting and administration; investment management; and risk management administration. The CFO will satisfy all requirements for the position as established by accrediting bodies. The CFO is the highest-ranking financial administrator within Burrell College.This position is exempt.This position reports to the President/CEO.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise the Controller and maintain oversight responsibility of the assigned functions of the department.Be knowledgeable of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles as applicable to institutions of higher education.Be knowledgeable of federal financial management and reporting requirements applicable to the institution.Manage the evaluation of accounting systems for the College.Advise the CEO on long-range fiscal planning and resource allocation strategies, including capital acquisition and long-term financing options, and assist in the procurement of such financing when needed.Advise the CEO on investment strategies for the College.Other skills important to this position:
Leadership and extensive financial and budgetary administration experience in a higher education environment.Strong managerial and interpersonal skills.Strong oral and written communication skills.Experience with higher education accreditation and reporting.Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
Master of Business Administration or Accounting.Experience in the Chief Financial Officer role within higher education.Meet all qualifications as established by accrediting bodies.Highly Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
Certified public accountant.Directly related experience within a health sciences university or similar institution.Directly related experience within a proprietary institution of higher education.Note:
