We are currently looking for a School Bus Driver to join us at ALL LOCATIONS IN WISCONSIN. KOBUSSEN BUSES is a third-generation, family-owned transportation company with over 1,100 employees throughout WISCONSIN. The School Bus Driver is responsible for safely operating the school bus on a regular daily schedule. The Driver must ensure that the School Bus is in good operating conditions at all times; pick up and drop off students as per the schedule and assigned route(s); maintain order and security on the bus; and obey all laws, regulations and rules of conduct.
Essential Functions
Operate the school bus in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life. Perform daily safety and maintenance checks. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of your bus with each route/charter and report discrepancies to your dispatcher. Drivers are responsible for keeping their bus clean, fueled and in good working condition. This will include communication with the mechanics on maintenance issues and the wash bay for schedule cleaning. Ensure the bus is safely and securely stored. Attends Training Programs, Meetings as required. Checks mailbox, bulletin boards and entry doors for messages and with dispatch prior beginning work. Coordinate with office staff to ensure that all routes are current and accurate. Make note of any behavioral or disciplinary problems, reporting as per company and school policy. Observe strict confidentiality regarding passenger and company information. Reports all accidents/incidents immediately to Transportation Management or Dispatch. Follow Kobussen Buses Ltd. safety and operational rules and procedures. Perform other related duties as assigned. Including driving for other area terminals. Requirements
21+ years old Valid driver's license for last 3 years Skills/Knowledge/Ability
Able to perform the physical requirements of the position, including the safe operation of the assigned vehicle Able to read and understand route sheet and simple instructions Effective communication with passengers, parents and school officials Able to complete pre & post-trip inspections Able to maintain passenger counts and fairly implement bus rules without discrimination Able to work in a team environment and take direction from supervisors
