Overview
Responsible for leading the development of data models to support business intelligence systems, ensuring that data models, data architectures and data classifications are aligned to the Enterprise business activities. Responsible for mentoring application and infrastructure teams skills, a comprehensive understanding of the company's business activities and excellent interpersonal communication skills. Senior candidates will have 5+ years of experience mentoring technical teams in BI/DW architectural issues and best practices. All candidates should have completed several Business Intelligence (BI) project life cycles. Works under minimal supervision and is responsible to make a wide range of decisions, escalating to the manager when necessary and updating the manager on a regular basis.
Responsibilities
What you will do: Develop and maintain the Data-model Architecture across the Enterprise BI program. Govern standards for data definitions and manipulation. Conduct interviews with business resources to gather requirements. Develop Technical Specifications and Mapping Documents. Lead ETL Developers in the development of data models and implementation of best practices. Senior resource for troubleshooting data model-related issues. Management of projects with cross-functional teams. Responsibilities of Data Architects may also include presenting to leadership. Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all policies and standards Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree Or commensurate selection criteria experience. (Required) Demonstrated experience with running queries and reports in a BI tool. (Required) and Demonstrated experience with coding in SQL-based clients, such as PL/SQL, TOAD or similar applications. (Required) and Experience in data architecture. (Required) Proven knowledge of the financial services industry. Demonstrated knowledge of BI tools and methodologies. Cite examples of successful employment of BI tools and methods. Demonstrated knowledge of project management methodologies such as waterfall and Agile. Cite examples of successful project management engagements. Proven knowledge of data modeling techniques. Must be able to cite examples comparing and contrasting Kimball approach versus Inmon versus data vault. Expertise in a (or multiple) CASE tools (ERwin, ORACLE Designer 2000, ER/Studio, etc.). Exposure to integration tools (DTS, SSIS, Informatica, Data Stage, etc.). Exposure to OLAP tools (Analysis Services, Cognos, BO, etc.). Exposure to Reporting tools (Reporting Services, Crystal Reports, etc.). Dependable team member. Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets and database applications. Proficient in Oracle RDBMS and Microsoft SQL Server. Working knowledge of AIX, Windows and Linux Operating Systems including scripts and task scheduling. Working knowledge of Structured Query Language. Work Setting/Position Demands: Works in an office setting and remains in a stationary position for long periods of time while working at a desk, on a computer or with other standard office equipment, or while in meetings. Requires the ability to verbally communicate and exchange accurate information to customers and associates on a regular basis. Requires visual acuity to read and interpret a variety of correspondence, procedures, reports and forms via paper and electronic documents, visual inspection involving small defects; small parts, and/or operation of machinery (including inspection); using measurement devices continuously. Visual acuity is required to determine accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned. Requires the ability to prepare written correspondence, reports and forms using prescribed formats and conforming to rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style on a regular basis. Requires the ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions Performs substantial movement of wrists, hands, and fingers for continuous computer work.
