Job Description
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Aquatics Director at Two Rivers YMCA intentionally fosters a safe and well-maintained aquatic area, while also managing high-quality, member-focused aquatic staff and programs.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.One to two years related experience preferred.One year of supervisory experience.Current CPR, AED, First Aid for infant, child and adult, and Lifeguard Certifications. ARC preferred.Red Cross Lifeguard certification required, Instructor certification preferred.Valid Driver’s License and Car InsuranceMinimum age of 21.Within 30 days of hire, completion of Bloodborne Pathogens and Harrassment training.Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.Essential Functions
Other duties may be assigned.Overall responsibility for preparing, maintaining, and developing department budget; maintaining net projections.Recruits, trains, and develops staff and volunteers. Interprets YMCA policies and procedures to all staff in a positive manner. Ensure all staff complete appropriate training and certifications.Monitors, evaluates, tracks, and communicates the effectiveness of and participation in programs. Responds to all member, participant, and community inquiries and complaints within one business day.Ensures all program registration information is available to member services staff timely and accurately.Manages program content and implements curriculum as recommended by the YMCA of the USA and supervisor.Recruits and leads a team of volunteers to achieve Annual Campaign goals.Knowledgeable of risk management policies and practices necessary to operate safe facilities and programs. Uphold and promote these policies and practices through regular, documented training and evaluation within the department.Initiates the marketing and distribution of all program information.Maintains collaborative relationships with other community organizations. Represents the YMCA in community events as directed.Coordinates and staffs the use of facilities for program activities and events. At times may be required to perform hands-on duties.Continues professional development as recommended by the YMCA of the USA and supervisor.
Supervisor ResponsibilitiesResponsible for supervising program participants, and be a primary responder in the event of an emergency. Responsible for the training and supervision of aquatics employees.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
