Business System Analyst .
The Business Systems Analyst is part of the team tasked with leading the efforts of transforming and configuring all system processes for the Office of the Registrar in our new Student Information System, Colleague. Responsibilities include gathering and tracking all requirements and deliverables for the unit, review and redesign of business processes to maximize efficiency, development of system workflows under the new platform, conduct quality assurance testing, and support with tasks associated with integrations with auxiliary systems. The Business System Analyst is expected to develop process documentation for end user support and to participate in the training of stakeholders.
This is a temporary part-time union position. Duration up to 12 months.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Gather and track all project requirements and deliverables assigned to the Office of the Registrar. Participate in requirements gathering and planning, functional design development, reporting needs, and system feasibility determination. Formulate and define system configuration scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements. Conduct system configuration that meets business needs. Execute quality assurance testing of processes and functionality as assigned. Provide procedural and technical guidance to staff regarding technology usage and management. Develop documentation such as user manuals, training and technical specifications. Train staff and other stakeholders in processes and procedures. Perform other related duties as assigned or required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred. 6 years of experience in higher education administration, preferably in a registrar, student records, or academic advising setting. 3 years of experience as a Business/Systems Analyst or a similar role with system configuration and project management responsibilities. Strongly developed problem-solving skills. Ability to lead others without direct authority by creating a shared vision. Experience working with Colleague student information system preferred. Keen ability to understand and configure complex computer systems and processes to sufficiently manage and further develop assigned processes. Knowledge of academic record keeping, registration practices, and curricular services. Ability to effectively communicate across all levels in the higher education environment.
