My client is a large European owned seed wholesaler and looking to increase their footprint in North America. This is a great opportunity to grow out a market and eventually build out a sales team here in North America. If you are a strong sales professional with experience selling within the agriculture space this could be an exciting opportunity for you.

Job Description

Sales Strategy Development :

Develop and implement sales plans to achieve sales targets and market growth.Analyze market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities and risks.

Market Expansion :

Identify new business opportunities, regions, and clients.Build and maintain relationships with existing clients, distributors, and partners, while actively pursuing new ones.

Client Consultation and Support :

Advise clients on seed selection, crop management, and yield optimization.Provide product knowledge, usage recommendations, and technical support to clients.

Team Leadership and Development :

Recruit, train, and manage a team of sales representatives or account managers.Set performance goals, monitor team progress, and provide regular feedback and training.

Sales Reporting and Analysis :

Track sales metrics and prepare regular reports on performance against targets.Conduct sales forecasting and budgeting to align with organizational goals.

Collaboration with R&D and Marketing :

Work closely with product development and marketing teams to support product launches and promotional activities.Gather feedback from customers to inform R&D on market needs and trends.

The Successful Applicant

Education : Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Business, or a related field.Experience : 3-5+ years of sales experience in the agriculture sector, preferably with seeds or crop protection products.Technical Knowledge : Strong understanding of crop management, plant biology, and agronomy.Sales and Negotiation Skills : Proven track record of achieving sales targets, strong negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.Communication and Leadership Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience managing and motivating teams.Problem-Solving Skills : Ability to troubleshoot client issues and provide effective solutions.
