The Materials Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing inventory operations. Responsibilities including maintaining optimal inventory levels, ensuring the accuracy of inventory records and coordinating with various departments to meet production and sales demands.
Duties and Responsibilities
Establish and manage inventory control procedures and best practices to manage the receipt, storage and distribution of inventory to meet day to day production and financial targets. Responsibilities include setting and maintaining optimal stock levels and minimizing excess inventory. Responsible for development and improvement of inventory systems, software, policies and procedures to maintain consistent and accurate inventory and supply chains that meet quality standards and timelines for production and financial targets. Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions and adjustments. Monitor inventory levels through routine checks to ensure accuracy is maintained. Support accounting and audit functions through cycle-counting, analysis, data entry/maintenance and reporting. Analyze inventory data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement. Responsible for coordinating with procurement, production, sales and management to forecast inventory needs and report on inventory status and issues. Accountable for maintaining appropriate inventory levels to achieve production and financial targets through regular collaboration with other departments. Assist in resolving inventory concerns and implementing strategies to mitigate risk. Prepare and present inventory reports to management. Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards in inventory management. Accountable for training staff, providing guidance and support to ensure best practices, policies and procedures are understood and followed. Performs general lab support and inventory management tasks according to site procedures and policies and accurate documentation consistent with the needs of a GLP facility. Requirements
Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) from four-year college or university; or high school graduate with four years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency in a variety of computer software programs including MS Office, inventory management software and ERP systems. Strong knowledge of inventory management principles and practices.
