Position Summary
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) shall interact with the residents and assist staff in meeting the functional needs of the resident. The NP shall always assist to ensure a safe and therapeutic environment. The NP will be responsible for providing oversight of the utilization review processes on difficult cases. The NP shall take physician orders, prepare, and administer resident medications, assess, and document resident's condition, and facilitate outside diagnostic or medical services that are ordered by the attending physician.

Maintains frequent and close working relationships facility leadership, nursing, clinical and direct care team members.
Outside the organization : May initiate and maintain working relationships with clinical providers, clients and families, referral partners and vendors, as needed and directed.
Position Responsibilities
Essential Responsibilities: Provides compassionate and professional medical care and guidance to clients, ensuring optimal levels of client health and safety.
Cultivates and maintains a client-centered approach to care, recognizing and adapting to cultural diversity in the provision of care, incorporating client's cultural and spiritual preferences, values, and beliefs into the provision of care. Cultivates and maintains a client-centered approach to confidentiality, privacy, comfort, emotional support, mutual trust, and respect.
Collaborates with Medical Director/Medical Providers in the provision of medical care to clients.
Completes all required client assessments within appropriate timelines as required by payor and regulatory bodies. Ensures physician orders are recorded and followed. Submits lab and medication orders, as needed. Oversees medication management, prescribing and monitoring efficacy, as needed.
Participates in treatment team meetings to coordinate care, communicate client needs and progress, and ensure consistent and quality care. Maintains a client caseload and acts as primary practitioner for assigned clients. Leads continuous quality improvement initiatives through participation in quality and performance improvement processes.
Ensures processes adhere to licensure and accreditation standards.
Collaborates with the Director of Nursing to ensure adherence to medication management and incident reporting processes. Completes required documentation related to assessments, medication management and clinical observations in a timely and accurate manner. Collaborates with Utilization Review team, engaging in peer-to-peer case review and advocacy, as needed. Additional Responsibilities
Functions within the guidelines of the facility's Code of Ethics and in accordance with corporate compliance. Assists in promoting and ensuring that the mission, goals and objectives of Lifeskills' Mission are understood and actively supported by the employees. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education/Experience: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. Requires State of Florida or multi state license as a Registered Nurse Practitioner. Prefer one (3) year experience as a Nurse Practitioner. Required one (3) year experience as a Psychiatric nurse and detox. Knowledge of current nursing procedures, the nursing process, medications and their correct administration. Possess working knowledge of psychotherapy, psychopathology, diagnostic assessment and related treatment interventions. Requires valid CPI, CPR/BLS certification Requires State Driver's License. Active and clear DEA License. TB skin test, or equivalent, and background check clearance in accordance with regulatory requirements.
