Design new and existing fire alarm systemsPrepare fire alarm design/riser drawings and shop packages for submittalWork closely with project managers, sales staff and/or operations managerAnalyze data to determine feasibility of product proposalPrepare material and fabrication listsReceive and respond to customer design needsCorrespond with district municipalities for the design needsSales and Marketing information gatheringCheck accuracy of own workPerform other duties, as required

Qualifications

3-5 years outside sales experienceExperience as an electrical engineer or a college diploma in fire protection design or a combination of equivalent education and experienceKnowledge of basis construction practice and blueprint readingWorking knowledge of various ULC (Underwriter Laboratories of Canada) code requirementsWorking knowledge of provincial building codesProficiency with Microsoft Office, MS Project and AutoCADAbility to meet deadlines and excellent time management skillsDemonstrated ability to work well independentlyExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExperience in the fire protection or security systems design preferred

HIRING HOURLY RANGE:

$38-48 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
