Position Overview :
We are seeking an
Information Security Engineer 2
to join our Information Security team on a contingent basis. This role will involve participating in low to moderately complex initiatives, identifying opportunities for process improvements, and supporting the implementation of encryption technologies to secure structured data. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in information security, an eagerness to develop technical expertise, and a collaborative mindset. Key Responsibilities : Data Encryption Management
Assist in implementing, maintaining, and supporting encryption technologies to secure structured data at rest. Monitor encryption systems and processes to ensure optimal performance and security. Vendor Collaboration
Work with vendors to implement and manage encryption solutions. Support vendor assessments and ensure adherence to compliance and security requirements. Development and Support
Contribute to the development and integration of encryption tools and processes. Provide hands-on support for technical issues and enhancements. Compliance and Risk Management
Assist with compliance activities, including audits, regulatory reporting, and maintaining documentation. Ensure encryption practices align with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies. Team Collaboration
Work closely with senior engineers and leadership to support team goals and objectives. Participate in training opportunities to develop expertise in data encryption technologies and compliance practices. Required Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience). 2+ years of Information Security Engineering experience or equivalent through work, consulting, training, military experience, or education. Basic understanding of data encryption concepts, security protocols, or related technologies. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a desire to learn and grow. Familiarity with compliance and regulatory environments, particularly in financial services, is a plus. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications :
Exposure to encryption tools such as Vormetric, CipherTrust Manager, or similar platforms. Experience working with structured data environments and understanding of data lifecycle management. Basic scripting or programming knowledge for development or automation purposes. Work Schedule : This role is a hybrid position with a minimum of three days onsite per week at one of the listed locations.
