Transportation Dispatcher

Under supervision of the Transportation Manager the dispatcher is responsible for the drivers' daily transportation schedule for program participants.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Dispatch trips to drivers thru Ecolane System.Assist Manager as needed to plan and manage with other team members the scheduling of transportation to and from the center for program participants.Communicates appropriate information regarding participant tolerance while riding on the PACE Southeast Michigan vehicles and or other related concerns.Assists staff in reporting and recording customer feedback through the use of the Report of Irregularity Form, and the Customer Feedback Form.Follows up with Transportation Manager appropriately on all Unusual Occurrences reported by the transportation staff.Assures that all vehicles are kept in safe and satisfactory working order according to vehicle maintenance schedules.Performs other related duties as necessary, assigned or requested by Transportation Manager.Monitors, communicates and follows up on customer complaints.Conducts daily A.M. meetings encompassing:
Appointment assignmentsConfirmation and mobilizing of appropriate appointment escortsConfirmation and mobilizing of appropriate route escortsRespite, Nursing home, and Death notificationsAssign special runsEnsure proper PreTrip inspectionsMake real time adjustments in vehicle , route, and appointment assignments based on vehicle maintenance, employee attendance, and participant cancellations
Prints out daily Route sheetsCreates accurate bus load-ups based on participate cancellations and appointment schedules.Ensure timely distribution of medications to drivers and the DNW center.Communicate immediately and manage all real time unforeseen situations.Interact and support all IDT Teams.JOB REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GED, required.A valid, unrestricted, Michigan CDL license Class B with Passenger endorsement and a driving record that falls into an acceptable category, according to Corporate Insurance standards or receive endorsement within six months of employment, requiredCurrent Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) card, required.Must have excellent communication skills.Proficient in Outlook, Word and Excel, required.Extremely organized and detailed oriented.Able to manage multiple data sets.Lead effectively under multiple and quickly changing situations.Three years' work experience in related field and/or supervision/management of five or more staff.Must be capable of and experienced in transporting individuals with special mobility needs or ability to learn.Demonstration of progressive communicative and dispatching ability is highly desirable.The ability to lift and/or carry 50 pounds or more.Must meet a standardized set of competencies (approved by CMS) before working independently.Must be medically cleared for communicable diseases and have all immunizations up-to-date before engaging in direct participant contact.
