THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are looking for a Senior UI/UX designer to join our team. You will report to the Head of Design and work with other designers, including industrial designers, visual designers, and other cross-functional teams, such as software development, system engineering, product management, project management, quality and regulatory assurance teams to react quickly and produce quality solutions to difficult technical challenges. This is a full-time position. The salary range for this role is $105,000 - $120,000, depending on level of experience.

WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING ON:Interface Design:

Design user-centric, intuitive interfaces for health monitoring applications on mobile and web platforms, utilizing Figma. Create interactive prototypes and detailed UI flows that demonstrate component functionality, incorporating accessibilities standards, various states and edge cases to ensure robustness and usability.Conceptualization & Ideation:

Develop design concepts through sketches, user flows, and information architecture mapping to support product functionality and user engagement goals.Design System Development:

Advance and refine the existing design system, ensuring cohesive and visually consistent interface components across various health software products.User Research, Usability Testing, & Documentation:

Coordinate, schedule, and conduct user research and usability testing throughout the product life cycle to understand user needs, pain points, and behaviors. Translate insights into actionable design improvements and proactively identify risk mitigations, document usability findings in conformance with current standards, and maintain thorough design specifications that align with the company's development process.Cross-Functional & Interdisciplinary Collaboration:

Collaborate with product and project managers, developers, system engineers, regulatory, and internal design teams to ensure alignment and cohesive design direction. Participate in defining and reviewing design inputs and conducting risk assessments. Lead design reviews and maintain comprehensive documentation of design decisions and iterations in alignment with medical industry standards and regulatory requirements.Mentorship:

Mentor Designer I & II team members, providing constructive feedback to support their growth and skill development.Trend Awareness & Tool Proficiency:

Stay informed on industry trends, emerging design tools, and best practices, and implement improvements to design processes and tool use accordingly.ABOUT YOU:

Bachelor's degree in Fine Art, Science, Product Design, Human-Centered Design, HCI, Interaction Design, or a related field. Alternatively, 4+ years of experience as a UI/UX designer or in a similar role.Strong portfolio with content including UI/UX design projects or showcases. Stay current on the design trends and have a high visual design taste reflected through work samples or portfolios.Experience designing both native apps and responsive web applications.Experience in creating new design systems or adapting existing systems to new products.4+ years experience with proficient up-to-date skills in using Figma. Ability to set up auto-layout, constraints, and variants to create wireframes and prototypes. Proficient skills in design software, such as Adobe Illustrator, photoshop.Led 10+ usability studies with strong knowledge of qualitative user research methodologies and experience creating study protocols and reports.Demonstrated communication skills, with experience presenting usability evaluation results and design solutions, collaborating across teams, and effectively articulating design rationale to diverse stakeholders.3+ years of experience designing user interfaces for complex systems. For example, products with multifaceted workflows, data management, or hardware-software integrations.Proven ability to manage multiple tasks using agile design management strategies.Flexible, creative problem-solver, open to iterating based on user and stakeholder feedback.Detail-oriented with a logical, analytical mindset.Fast learner committed to continuous improvement, seeking to deepen knowledge of standards and best practices in the medical device design field.YOU MAY THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF:

In addition to a BS degree or equivalent experience, you hold a Master's degree in Fine Art, Science, Product Design, Human-Centered Design, HCI, Interaction Design, or a related field.You have a strong understanding of medical device human-factor engineering standards, such as IEC 62366, HE75, and FDA HFE guidance.Familiarity with medical device risk management standards (ISO 14971) and how they influence design decisions.Proficient knowledge of the Product Development Process (PDP) and its application in design.Excellent communicator who values clarity, consistency, and alignment with cross-functional teams.Highly adaptable, with a desire to learn and thrive in a startup culture and fast-paced product development environment.Agile and flexible in design approach, accommodating evolving requirements and rapid iteration.Able to anticipate design constraints, potential risks, and edge cases.Comfortable using project management tools to organize, track, and communicate progress effectively.BENEFITS:
