Technology Services is a division in the City of Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) Department. We are looking for a

GIS Technician

to join our team. This is responsible entry level technical work performing specialized duties in the operation, use, and maintenance of Enterprise-level Geographic Information Systems (GIS) data.

Desired: Coursework in geographic information systems; experience with GIS and the use of GPS; experience interpreting construction design plans and record drawings; knowledge of water, wastewater, storm, paving, and right of way infrastructure/assets; asset management.

Work Hours:

Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

Associates degree in geographic information systems, computer science, engineering, geography or related fieldTwo years of experience working with computer software, hardware and operations systems related to geographic information systemsAny equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities and skills may be considered.

Necessary Special Requirement:

Certificate in Geographic Information Systems or equivalent.
