We are seeking a talented Content Writer to join our team, specializing in crafting high-quality content across various platforms. The ideal candidate is not just a skilled storyteller but also someone eager to dive deep into the hardware and tech space, becoming an industry expert. You will translate complex technical information into clear, engaging content that resonates with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Creation:

  • Blogs & Articles: Write informative and engaging blog posts, technical articles, and other long-form content that appeals to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Product Information: Develop in-depth product descriptions, user guides, and technical specifications that explain complex features in a clear and concise manner.
  • Internal Communications: Create content for internal newsletters, culture-building initiatives, and team announcements that foster a cohesive company environment.
Advert Copy:
  • Write persuasive advert copy and landing page content, with a focus on testing multiple variations (A/B testing) to optimize performance and drive conversions.
Technical Writing:
  • Industry Expertise: Become a subject matter expert in the hardware and edge computing space. Research and distill complex hardware and tech topics into easy-to-digest content for various audience levels.
  • Technical Documentation: Write and maintain technical documentation, including FAQs, knowledge bases, white papers, and case studies.
Content Strategy & SEO:
  • SEO Optimization: Collaborate with the marketing team to optimize content for search engines, ensuring high visibility and traffic. Stay updated on SEO best practices.
  • Data-Driven Content: Use analytics to monitor content performance, refine content strategies, and improve future posts. Incorporate keywords, meta descriptions, and links to drive engagement.
  • A/B Testing: Conduct A/B tests on advert copy, email campaigns, and landing pages to determine the most effective messaging.
Collaboration & Innovation:
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, engineers, and the marketing team to gather accurate information for technical content and product launches.
  • Content Calendar: Help maintain a content calendar, ensuring that deadlines are met and content aligns with broader marketing campaigns and business objectives.
  • Trendspotting: Stay up-to-date with industry trends in technology and hardware, and proactively suggest new content ideas that will resonate with the target audience.
  • Ghostwriting & External Submissions: Submit content on behalf of leadership to external platforms such as HARO (Help A Reporter Out) and other relevant industry publications, representing the company's thought leadership.
Requirements
  • BA in English, Communications, Marketing, Technical Writing, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of content writing experience, preferably with some focus on technical writing or hardware-related topics.
  • Proficiency in writing both long-form and short-form content, with a portfolio that showcases blogs, technical articles, and marketing copy.
  • Strong understanding of SEO principles, A/B testing, and content performance metrics.
  • Experience working with CMS systems (e.g., WordPress, Drupal) and collaboration tools (e.g., Google Docs, Asana).
  • Basic understanding of the hardware or tech industry or willingness to become an expert in the field.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in A/B testing and optimizing advert copy for conversion rates.
  • Familiarity with writing for technical audiences, with the ability to simplify complex topics.
  • Basic understanding of HTML/CSS and Google Analytics.
  • Experience with social media content creation and community engagement.
  • Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) like WordPress.

Working Conditions:

This position may require occasional travel for industry events or company gatherings. Flexibility in working hours is expected to meet deadlines, and the role should operate within US Central Time to support internal business partners and teams overseas

Salary Description

GBP35,000 + bonus per annum
