Overview
The Procurement Manager will be responsible to lead a business segment, combining strategic, technical, and interpersonal skills to drive success. This role requires developing and implementing procurement strategies aligned with corporate goals, leading and motivating teams, and driving cross-functional change. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, financial acumen, and negotiation expertise to secure favorable contracts and manage procurement budgets. Key responsibilities include supplier relationship management, risk mitigation, project management, and contract oversight. Proficiency with procurement software and ERP systems, coupled with strong communication and problem-solving skills, is essential. The successful candidate will foster innovation, uphold ethical practices, and ensure compliance while delivering exceptional value to internal stakeholders. This is a leadership role where continuous improvement and time management are critical to achieving operational excellence.
Responsibilities
Total ownership of Procurement Strategy and Execution within the Transportation (Stryten Energy) and Recycling (Element Resources) business segments. Develop a strategy that supports the procurement vision, and lead activities for your business segment(s) Provide counsel and guidelines to senior management for all procurement issues, researching and providing direction for development of new and additional suppliers for your business segments Effectively and efficiently utilize procurement resources Ensure the correct deployment of the general Procurement Strategy of cost reduction initiatives Propose cost reduction projects and ideas (Quality value add, Change of supplier, Negotiation) within their perimeter in consistency with the Procurement Strategic Goals. Support the commodity management strategy for supplier consultation & selection including negotiating and managing contracts with local/specific suppliers (price, lead times, pay terms, inventory level, etc.) Support and / or lead all the activities related to the supply qualification system in plant according with the responsibility matrix defined. Manage supplier performance. Make recommendations and collaborate closely with functional stakeholders regarding plant needs and supply chain inefficiencies. Support digitization efforts in making processes more effective and efficient
Qualifications
B.S. in Business, Supply Chain, or Engineering is preferred 10+ years of supply chain procurement experience Elevated level of integrity Ability to lead across cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to details and deadlines Ability to work well with others in a team environment Proficient in Microsoft 365 Action-oriented, solution-driven, and able to work in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication skills Analytical skills to ensure both internal and external requests are fulfilled Expect 10% travel
