Description
SAIC has an opportunity for an Agile Scrum Master located in Fort Meade, MD. The ideal candidate will guide and coach a Scrum Team on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to deliver high-quality products and services to the Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) Enterprise Center (NEC) Studies and Analytics Division.
Duties Include:
Act as a facilitator for the Scrum Team.
Help the team embrace Agile Core Values, adopt and apply Agile principles, and implement Agile practices.
Guide the Scrum Team on self-organizing to fill in the intentional gaps left in the Agile/Scrum frameworks.
Remove impediments to the team’s progress to its sprint commitments.
Facilitate Scrum ceremonies (e.g., Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, Sprint Retrospectives).
Assist the Product Owner with the product backlog management, helping to define and prioritize stories and epics.
Develop and maintain sophisticated configuration management processes to streamline software identification, control, deployment, and reporting.
Oversee the integration and sustainability of internally developed and commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software.
Implement and refine build procedures to support the life cycle of software development and deployment.
Lead in the training of the software development team on the adoption of configuration management tools and adherence to quality standards.
Coach the team in Agile practices to optimize the efficiency of the team and project.
Track and communicate team velocity and sprint/release progress to all affected teams and management.
Ensure that the development teams are practicing the core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility.
Qualifications
Bachelors in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.
Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), or similar certification.
Proven experience as a Scrum Master for a software development team.
Excellent knowledge of Scrum techniques and artifacts (such as the definition of done, user stories, automated testing, backlog refinement).
Knowledge of Agile approaches – Kanban, Scrum, XP, etc.
Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
Proven experience in software configuration management and release engineering.
In-depth knowledge of software development processes and quality assurance.
Must be a US citizen and currently possess an active TS/SCI Clearance
Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
