Job Duties and Responsibilities
A Senior Cloud Engineer at Boost Mobile will lead the design and development of automated, fault-tolerant cloud infrastructure in AWS. This role focuses on enhancing automated recovery and zero-touch provisioning using tools like Kubernetes, Ansible, and CloudFormation. The engineer will also mentor junior engineers and drive innovation in cloud-native environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Mentor junior engineers, onboard new team members, and solve complex programming and design challenges
Design and implement highly available, fault-tolerant platform/cloud infrastructure solutions
Establish standards for designing, tuning, deploying, and maintaining infrastructure, including backups and automation
Administer AWS services (ECR, EC2, ECS, IAM), databases, operating systems, and applications
Proactively identify and recommend updates to prevent capacity issues, and develop automated incident responses
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and manage ticket priorities, including participation in an on-call rotation
Skills, Experience and Requirements
Education and Experience:
Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification required
Master’s in Computer Science or related field, or 6+ years of experience
4+ years in AWS/cloud technologies and programming (Java, C++, Perl, Python, Shell)
3+ years in Linux/Windows system administration, plus 2+ years with Agile at Scale, SAFe, and Lean Systems Engineering
Skills and Qualifications:
Proven experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, automating deployments, and systems security
Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and creative solution development skills
Ability to document requirements and manage conflicts
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Salary Ranges
Compensation: $96,250.00/Year - $158,125.00/Year
