What you will do:
Increase your chances of an interview by reading the following overview of this role before making an application.As a Project Engineer II, you will be responsible for managing new product development projects through the stage-gate development process for the Chiller Product Business Unit.
You will use your technical degree and developing project management knowledge to manage projects with moderate supervision. This position is viewed as a developing leader on matters that relate to project management within the business.
How you will do it:Lead cross-functional and regionally distributed teams through JCI’s stage-gate development process.
Initiate, plan, execute, control and close projects to deliver scope within established targets for budget, quality, and time to market.
Plan for and acquire resources according to project scope.
Coordinate the efforts of core, extended and support team members, contractors, or consultants to deliver projects according to plan.
Create and deliver progress reports via project scoreboards/dashboards, management reviews, and project team meetings.
Identify, escalate, and help resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
Identify and manage project dependencies and the critical path(s).
Communicate and work closely with other program managers, functional managers, and executive leadership to achieve project goals.
Leverage best practices to aid in project execution and management.
What we look for:RequiredBachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering or related field with 2 years of experience in project management or leading technical teams/projects in a functional management role
Experience creating and managing a schedule, assigning project tasks, facilitating project meetings, and formulating resource plans.
Experience with managing local or regionally distributed cross functional project teams.
Knowledge and prior use of project management software tools and concepts (such as Microsoft Project) and the Microsoft software suite.
Ability to travel (5% or less) for the purpose of meeting with team members, stakeholders, or off-site personnel and management.
Ideal or PreferredExperience with managing globally distributed cross functional project teams.
Direct work experience within the HVAC industry
Experience using collaboration platforms (e.g. Microsoft Teams) and work management platforms (e.g. Daptiv, Smartsheet, Wrike)
