Salary : $54,558.00 - $62,861.00 Annually Location : Yorktown, VA Job Type: Full-time Job Number: 22CSSI-1910 Department: Information Technology Division: INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY Opening Date: 10/17/2024 Closing Date: Continuous Description Responsible for performing professional work, under the general supervision of the Help Desk supervisor, assisting in the operation and support of the County's wide area network. Assembles, installs, and troubleshoots computers workstations, laptops, printers, and other equipment; optimizes operating systems; replaces defective parts; repairs and cleans equipment and components; performs preventive maintenance when necessary. Works with hardware and software vendors to solve technical problems. Responsible for providing technical and functional support via telephone, in writing or in person to end users on enterprise applications and technical issues to include installation, problem resolution and end-user training. Experience with Windows Deployment Server, creation of MSI packages, and PDQ preferred. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science, or a related field, and 3 years practical experience in computer networks, computer support, software applications; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities. Must have 3 years' experience in technical and analytical troubleshooting of computers, laptops and printers. Requires an acceptable criminal background investigation, including an acceptable applicant fingerprint check required by the FBI's Criminal Justice Information Services Security Policy. Requires a valid Commonwealth of Virginia operator's license. Supplemental Information DMV records and criminal background checks conducted prior to employment. Physical Demands Must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment including computers, plotters, printers, copiers, facsimiles, etc. Must be able to lift and install computers, and the ability to move components weighing up to 55 pounds as needed.
